D'Angelico's flagship acoustic model, the Bowery SD-500 Dreadnought, pays tribute to master luthier John D'Angelico's humble beginnings in the lower east side of Manhattan. Featuring solid rosewood back & sides and a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, the Bowery Dreadnought delivers a beautiful rich acoustic voice while offering tons of volume, projection & sonic horsepower. For unparalleled playability and comfort, the mahogany neck is carved into a slim C-shaped profile and carries a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. A smooth cutaway allows for comfortable access to the higher frets while also providing an elegant, modern aesthetic.
The Bowery comes loaded up with onboard Fishman INK-4 electronics for premium plugged-in tone and performance. For superior tonal tailoring, the preamp consists of a 3-band EQ with Bass, Mid, and Treble controls, a Volume control and a Brilliance control that allows you to add from extra top-end sparkle and shimmer. The electronics also feature an easy-to-read, convenient integrated tuner for accurate, on-the-fly tuning.
Signature D'Angelico touches include block fingerboard inlays in mother of pearl, a Stairstep rosewood bridge with brass bridge pins, a Scalini pickguard, Grover Super Rotomatic tuners in gold, and a classic D'Angelico headstock with Excel inlay and gold truss rod cover.
